Exciting winter plans: Parades, party, performances, and more

NeWs Briefs What a great way to kick-off the holiday season! The first weekend of December, we will be participating in three local parades.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, we will be march-ing in downtown Greenville’s 2011 Poinsettia Christmas Parade.

The city of Greenville partners with Blue Star Moth-ers to sponsor the parade. The group supports America’s troops by sending care packages to active military personnel. Please consider making a donation to this cause.

A list of recommended items can be

found at www.greenvilleupstatebsm.com or on our website. You may bring items to the school or directly to the parade.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, we will be partici-pating in the Simpsonville and Greer parades.

Due to parade restrictions, student partici-pants for all parades will be chosen by Master Kim based on need. We hope to see you at the parades, cheering on Master Kim’s World Class Tae Kwon Do and all of the other parade partici-pants. Happy holidays!

Lights, camera, action: movie nightKids, don’t miss the chance to eat pizza while

watching a movie with your friends. Parents, don’t miss the opportunity to attend that holiday

party or finish your holiday shopping. From 6-11 p.m. on Saturdays Dec. 10 and 17,

we will host movie nights at the Woodruff Road location. Cost is $20 per child and includes a pizza dinner, snacks, a movie, and lots of fun. Sign-up sheets will be available at each location.

Support Project HOPE with Giving Tree Soon you will see a holiday “Giving Tree” in

the lobby of each location that will benefit our Break-a-Thon charity recipient, Project HOPE Foundation, “a small foundation doing big things for children with autism.”

Paper ornaments will identify specific items needed in the classrooms or therapy sessions. Select an ornament, purchase the indicated item, and return the (unwrapped) item to our school.

Prepare for annual holiday party funJoin us from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at

the Woodruff Road location as we celebrate the holiday season with our Tae Kwon Do family.

We will have a sampling of Korean food, including bulgogi and kimchi. Please bring one of your family’s favorite dishes to share. Sign-up sheets will be available at both school locations.

We would also like to thank all of the students who have donated ornaments to our Christmas tree—a gift from the Kim family (Paul and Julia) 10 years ago!

Furman University officials were so impressed with our demonstration team’s performance at our October tournament that our World Class Tigers have been invited to perform at one of Furman’s home basketball games in January.

Please label jackets and gearAs the weather gets cooler and students begin

wearing jackets to school, please be sure that all coats, jackets, and sweaters are labeled with your child’s name. Please also remember to label all sparring gear. Lost-and-found bins are located at each school. At the end of each semester, any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

Review our inclement weather policy With snow and ice season quickly approach-

ing, it is time to review our inclement weather policy.

If classes are canceled because of bad weather, a message will be recorded at each school. Call 864-289-0201 for Woodruff Road or 864-552-1256 for the Greer school. You may also check

If we are closed, we will not open later in the evening, even if the weather improves. If we are open and weather conditions deteriorate, please double check before coming to class, as we may have to close early.

As always, if classes are not canceled, please use your discretion before deciding to travel to class. Your safety is very important to us.
