8:40 a.m. – 9:20 a.m. New AASHTO Guide Specification for ABC Design and Construction Mike Culmo, Chief Technical Officer, CMERecently, the AASHTO Committee on Bridges and Structures (COBS) approved a document referred to as the AASHTO Guide Specification for ABC Design and Construction. This document was produced as a result of recently completed NCHRP projects. This presentation provides an overview of the document and important elements within the Guide.

11:10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Alternative Financing Methods including Bridge Bundling, Federal Aid Grants, and Public-Private Partnerships – Carlos Duart, C.P.A., President, CDR MaguireThis presentation provides possible innovative approaches for financing bridge replacement projects.

11:30 a.m. – Noon Panel Discussion on Agency-Level Implementation of ABC – Moderator, Mary Lou Ralls; Panel members: S. Jacobi, W. Peters, Z. Gutierrez, M. Culmo, M. Zaman, A. AzizinaminiThe best value for use of ABC is recognized when all involved in planning and execution of an ABC project use a well-established and well-thought-out process. When such a process is developed and implemented at the agency level, ABC projects will prove to be more economical and safer than building bridges using conventional methods of construction. This panel discussion will introduce main elements of how to implement ABC at an agency level.
