Page 1: Workplace Flexibility: Benefits and Strategies

Promotes workplace creativity and collaboration.

Leads to a higher work commitment.

Recruits talented employees by creating an attractive workplace.

Increases efficiency.

In today’s workforce, many office environments are moving away from the strict scheduling structure of the past and are

leaning towards a progressive, flexible workplace.

Benefits and Strategies

Avoid classifying reasons for seeking flexible work. Doing so is likely to divide the workplace and make itmore difficult for flexible arrangements to succeed.

Building BETTER MANAGERS

AND BETTER LEADERS for a better society.

Pay special attention to work “intensification” – it can affect employees’ health.

Rethink traditional things like meeting attendance, as it may not always be possible with multiple

colleagues working flexible hours. Perhaps a better alternative is document sharing.

Remember, if you’re a manager and negotiating flexible hours with an employee,

it’s likely you’re negotiating with their partner’s schedule, their day care centre, etc.
