Here is a fade and stop. This cue is used during performances when the sound is finished with…. But instead of an abrupt stop you can fade the sound out making it sound more professional all the way down to a stop where the music stops and you’re ready for the next cue. You can also change the time that you fade the music out, mine is currently at five seconds… a general fade time.

As mentioned in the previous slide… that was a fade and stop cue. This is when you need the sound to stop instantly, this may be if you need to move onto the next cue instantly. The stop cue is simple when you press the cue it stops all the sound, or the sounds you ask it too.

Qlab can also be used for video as well as sound. The cue is simple, just like and cue you go onto it and it plays instantly. At this moment there is no actual video loaded into the cue, this explains the little red ‘X’ This is indicating there is no content in the cue.

On every cue there is a box at the top where you can write what and when the cue is needed. So when a performer says a line or stands in a specific place. Also below I had to cue Ciara in… she was operating the lights, so we both counted from three to one and then cued at the same time.

Here a sound took too long too start as we found out during the tech run. So what we did was edit the sound making it shorter and start earlier, making the sound more effective for the play. The sound also echoed at the end and continued so we deleted some of the sound off the end to make it shorter.

This improved the sound for the play making it sound more effective and professional.
