Workability International champions the right to work of any person who has a disability or is otherwise marginalized. We are proud to be the world’s largest body representing providers of work and employment services to people with disabilities. More than three million people with disabilities are engaged in work programmes; accessing employment and work, delivered by more than 130 member organisations in more than 40 countries.

Across the globe, people with disability continue to experience poverty and social exclusion at a far higher rate than those without disability. A contributing reason for this is the continually high unemployment rate of people with disability.

At a time when governments are grappling with fiscal pressure and the economic imperative to increase workforce participation, too many industries have yet to see the potential employing people with disability can create. This is despite much outstanding evidence of success in supporting people with disability in employment.

The questions arise:

• How can we shift this paradigm to see more people with disability gainfully employed?• What role do governments need to play in decreasing these unemployment rates?• How can businesses and industries be encouraged to look to people with disability as

employment solutions?

Grupo Fundosa and Workability International have come together to host an international two day conference focused on these questions. The conference will equip delegates with knowledge and strategies to improve the employment opportunities for people with disability through showcasing innovation and practical solutions.
