The children have been working hard and having just as much funin the Edible Schoolyard this summer at Camp Ganim! Ourcampers have used rakes, garden hoes, shovels and garden forksin the garden to weed and loosen the soil for new growth. Thechildren have been planting away, too! So far, they haveplanted carrot, bean, sunflower, okra, flower and squash seedsalong with tomato, pepper, and cucumber seedlings.

While they work really hard, our campers also eat every time theycome to the Edible Schoolyard. Lately, they have been snackingon green peppers, kale, cucumbers, squash, basil, dill, cilantroand our smallest tomatoes. We are all anxiously waiting biggertomato and pepper harvests so we can feast! In the garden we

work our muscles, brains, and palates!
