Work Life Balance consists of the implementation of working arrangements and policies which assist workers in combining employment with other aspects of their lives. Employers can benefit from these policies too as they can help to develop a more committed and productive workforce.

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high‐net‐worth individuals. Goldman Sachs introduced a intensive program which is a paid ten‐week preparatory initiative called the “Return ship” in 2008.
This initiative prepares individuals who wish to re‐start their career after an extended absence from the workforce by equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence to transition comfortably back into the industry. The return ship programme has enabled the employees to achieve a proper work life balance.

• Many companies have started the concept of “work from home” in which the employee can work for the organization while sitting at his home through laptop. This concept has enabled the employees to spend time with family and do their work simultaneously.
• Mobile phones have also made the work easier for the employee. Now the managers order the employee through mobile phones and get their work done.

To prepare for retirement by gradually decreasing working hours over a number of years;
To pursue education/lifelong learning;
