Welcome to Amazing Word Power!
By picking up this book you’ve entered the world of Amazing Words. And you’re on your way to building your own Amazing Word Power. There are 100 great words in this book. Some you may know already. Some may look familiar. But many of them are meant to challenge you! The illustrations and easy-to-understand definitions will help you to learn and remember them. Ready? Before you get started, you may want to do the following: 1. Use the Checklist that starts on page 125 along with the back
cover flap to see what words you know and don’t know. (Be sure to use a dry-erase marker.) Do this again in a couple of weeks. This will help you keep track of your growing word power.
2. Check out the Word Power Tips on page 124. Following these tips
will help you boost your word learning.
3. Learn more about the words. Many words have several definitions. We didn’t include all these definitions, but you can find them—as well as information about the origins of the words—by looking in a dictionary or searching in an online dictionary.
