SITE SAFETY RULES Site Safety Rules
It is a condition of entry to this site that the following safety requirements are complied with.
The site safety rules form part of the contract agreement.
Only competent safety minded employees are permitted on site
RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE OH&S ACT 2000 NUMBER 40
Duties Relating to Health, Safety and Welfare at Work
Duties of employers;
An employer must ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of all the employees of the employer.
Others at workplace;
An employer must ensure that people (other than the employees of the employer) are not exposed to risks to their health or safety arising from the
conduct of the employer’s undertaking while they are at the person’s place of work
Duties of self-employed persons;
An employee must, while at work, take reasonable care for the health and safety of people who are at the employee’s place of work.

An employee must, while at work, take reasonable care for the health and safety of people who are at the employee’s place of work and who may be
affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at work
SITE SAFETY RULES All visitors must report to office and sign in the visitor’s book
, No unauthorized personnel are permitted entrance to Workshop and surrounding areas
All safety equipment must be worn when required. Including hard hat when performing crane lifts in yard
Safety Boots – at all times, bare feet, thongs, flimsy or unsuitable footwear are not prohibited.
Wear protective clothing, ear muffs/plugs, gloves and use shields/screens when welding cutting grinding or using power tools.
Sun protection:- Sunglasses, UV sun protective cream, (Min 15+) long sleeves and a wide brimmed hat.
Be aware to protect yourself and others at all times.
Do not use compressed air for cleaning of personal skin
All visitors are to be accompanied at all times by a person induced to the site. The inducted person is responsible for the visitor.
Alcohol/ illegal drugs
The consumption of either alcohol and / or illegal drugs on the site is prohibited. Workers will not be permitted to enter the site whilst affected
by alcohol and / or illegal drugs.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in any site amenities, non-ventilated rooms at the work face and in any finished rooms.
Please consider others when Smoking at the work face.
Injuries
All injuries no matter how minor must be reported to management or administration and recorded.
Any dangerous occurrences or any other safety issues shall be reported immediately
First aid kits are kept in the main office.

SITE SAFETY RULES Work areas
All work areas must be kept clean and tidy with rubbish and other safety hazards, cleaned up promptly
Materials shall be stored and used in a manner as to maintain safe access and egress to work areas at all times. In particular walkways, passages, stairs and exits mkept clear to provide unimpeded access or egress at all times.
Spillage of oil or other similar liquids are to be cleared up immediately.
Driving on site
Unlicensed personnel must be accompanied by a licensed driver at all times. Drive slowly and carefully at all times.
Walking on site
Where applicable, use the walkways provided in the work areas and when walking to and from work – DON’T TAKE SHORTCUTS.
Never move across in front of oncoming vehicles. Beware of reversing vehicles, as the driver may not know you are behind the vehicle.
Manual Handling
Manual handling shall be carried out in accordance with the work safe Australia national code of practice
Generally material and equipment of excessive weight shall be lifted with the assistance of other workers or by mechanical means
Environmental Management.
Site personnel are required to observe all environmental safeguards and protection measures in place around the site and to conduct their day to day activities in a manner which minimizes the potential to adversely affect the environment. In particular, workers are required to;
Place all waste materials (i.e. glass metal masonry etc.) in the correct designated bin or temporary holding area
No fill material is to be placed in any watercourse or drain
Report all contamination such as oil or chemical spills immediately to the site foreman.
� Must hold current state OHS building and construction industry induction and have relevant

� Must attend daily briefings and toolbox talks
� Must comply with all reasonable directions given by site management.
� All personnel must be fit and ready for work. Acceptable levels for alcohol are 0.00 and 0% for illegal
substances.
� Sub-contractors must have current workers compensation, motor vehicle insurance and public
liability cover. These need to be provided before the commencement of works on site.
� All new personnel to the site must be inducted before commencing works, including those carrying
out repair or maintenance
� Ensure proper HOUSEKEEPING of site at ALL TIMES

REQUIRMENTS TO BE ON SITE
� All works must be carried out under a safe work method statement.
� Sub-contractors are to submit SWMS to EPS for review before starting works.
� Do not commence a task unless there is SWMS for the task and you have
signed and agree to follow the directions set down in the SWMS.
� SWMS/Risk Assessments must be reviewed whenever works change, or new
hazards are introduced or encountered

As part of our commitment GBP Cranes seek to ensure that personnel
under out supervision are not affected by alcohol or drugs and present
a threat to fellow workers and customers
