History

Woolley Hall dates from 1635. It is a very fine example of early 17th century Jacobean architecture subsequently renovated around

1800 by Sir Jeffry Wyattville who was employed by George IV to remodel Windsor Castle and who worked on other estates including

Chatsworth and Longleat.

Description

This important sale comprises 18 acres of fine gardens and grounds including Woolley Hall, presently used as a wedding and conference venue with various

additional residential properties and a magnificent vacant courtyard with potential for further redevelopment subject to consent.

Woolley Hall is listed Grade II* and the adjoining courtyard is listed Grade II. There are also two interesting gate lodges.

Accommodation

The principal accommodation of Woolley Hall is arranged over two floors with excellent views over the carefully tended gardens and parkland grounds beyond. Woolley Park Golf Club adjoins Woolley

Hall to the north and east. To the west lies the walled garden bounded by a listed brick and stone capped

wall with a private tennis court. There are many fine mature specimen trees throughout the grounds.

The courtyard, which is currently vacant, has

considerable potential for commercial or residential development subject to all appropriate consents.

Situation

Woolley Hall is located in beautiful countryside on the eastern side of the village of Woolley, next to Woolley Park Golf Club.

The property lies approximately 6 miles south of Wakefield and within a few minutes

drive of junction 38 M1 therefore making the property both accessible and at the same time taking nothing away from its tranquil

and picturesque rural setting.
