F5 rangeThe F5 range of taps have been designed for high usage washrooms and excel in functionality and style. F5 single-lever mixer technology (F5L)The F5L single lever mixer taps are reliable with a stylish design. The ergonomic lever operates both water flow and temperature and the integrated ceramic cartridge is easy to use with a wide range of movement. To prevent the risk of scalding the F5L features an automatic safety switch off function and limits the temperature to 41°C for taps and 43°C for showers. With the optional hygiene unit you can activate program-controlled thermal disinfection to ensure a clean safe water supply.

F5 touch-free electronic taps (F5E)The opto-electronically controlled F5 taps are ideal for high usage washrooms and provide enhanced water management features. To prevent water wastage the F5 sensor taps have an auto shut off function, the shut down time is adjustable via an optional remote control allowing water usage to be managed. Water hygiene is maintained through the integrated water hygiene flush functionality which ensures that clean safe water is provided. An optional bi-directional remote control which is available as an extra allows you to set parameters and extract statistical data.

F5 self-closing taps with FRAMIC cartridge (F5S)All Franke F5S self-closing taps have been designed with the patented Franke Modular Innovation Cartridge (FRAMIC). The cartridge ensures stagnation-free, hydraulic control of the water flow and sets the highest hygiene standards. The self-closing range has been designed so the water-flow automatically stops once the pre-set flow duration has been reached.

Water conservationWater resources are becoming scarcer, therefore it is important to consider options on how to lower the amount of water used every day. With the average person in the UK consuming 140 litres of water per day, we now have a social responsibility to make sure we are making every effort to preserve such a precious resource.

Water consumption has increased by 1% every year since the 1930's and it is predicted that by 2050 there will be a 40% shortage of water for people living in the UK. Globally, water scarcity affects 4 out of 10 people across every continent. Making simple changes such as having electronic or self-closing taps can help reduce water consumption by up to 50%.

Water saving exampleWater conservation can help save the environment and money. For example, in an office of 200 people, we have found that you could save around £7,000 per year just by swapping the taps you have in the washroom from manual to electronic or self-closing.

Franke Water Systems presents the first ceramic self-closing cartridge The Franke Modular Innovation Cartridge (FRAMIC) ceramic self-closing cartridge is the first of its kind in tap disc technology and enables a stagnation-free, hydraulic control of water flow ensuring perfect water hygiene. The operation of the cartridge is flow pressure-independent meaning drinking water is kept completely separate to the functional elements of the tap. The F5 FRAMIC cartridge gives you absolute piece of mind that the operation provides maximum cleanliness and hygiene. How does it work?The patented FRAMIC cartridge is made up of four main components; 1. Hydraulic control, 2. Ceramic valve, 3. Water conduction and, 4. Ceramic mixing unit.

1. The hydraulic control element enables complete shut off of the self-closing valve once the set time has been reached. The flow duration can be easily adjusted for optimum washing convenience.The self-closing actuator is filled with specialised fluid and does not come into contact with drinking water. This ensures that the tap conforms to maximum hygienic standards and that water stagnation is kept to a complete minimum. 2. The ceramic valve unit is designed to control the water flow through the tap. The ceramic material is robust and durable unlike many traditional style taps which aren't manufactured with ceramic and are therefore subject to greater wear and tear. 3. The water distributor forms an interface with the tap housing and connects the hydraulic control unit with the ceramic valve and mixing unit, guaranteeing perfect water intake and delivery.4. The ceramic mixing component blends hot and cold water through a rotatable disc, allowing temperature control settings to be adjusted accordingly.
