WHAT: A recent controversy over scientist and blogger Dr. Danielle Lee being called an “urban whore” in an email exchange has underscored the challenges faced by women in science, particularly at the intersection of gender, race and culture. Join us for a FREE all-inclusive open forum where we will discuss a case study, share our stories and insights about issues surrounding women and diversity in science, and how we can build a more supportive environment. All students, faculty and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend. Attending students will be entered in a raffle to win a research basket that includes a poster tube, portfolio and business card holder (raffle is for students *ONLY*).
