WOLF TRACKS Dear Wolfpack Nation, I cant believe the year has gone by so quickly! It has been a great year so far and I am looking forward to everyone finishing strong. We have an amazing student body and parent support – Thank you. As we are into the month of June and the weather is getting nicer, please remind our students to adhere to our dress code and wear ONLY school appropriate attire. Please see our handbook for specific dress code requirements. We will ask students to change if dressed inappropriately. The end of the year is always an exciting time with graduation and many end of year activities. It is also a critical time for students to stay on track , finish strong, and take final exams seriously. Please take time to check in with your student to ensure they are attending to assignments, projects, and preparations for final exams. Here is the schedule: Seniors – June 7 th periods 1, 3, & 5, June 8 th periods 2, 4, & 6 (seniors attend all classes both days) Grades 9 th 11 th June 14 th periods 2, 4, & 6, June 15 th periods 1, 3, & 5 Graduation is Friday June 10 th at St. Martins Pavilion. Seeing our seniors finalize their time here at Black Hills High school is very powerful, so if you have the opportunity to join us, please do. It is a wonderful experience! It is with mixed emotions that I announce Assistant Principal Marty Reid has taken a position at another school. His two children will be attending this school in the near future and we support his desire to want to be there for his family. We wish him the best in his new position. We are currently in the process of screening and scheduling interviews for a new Assistant Principal. If you are interested in being on the interview panel please contact me as soon as possible. We want parent input on this process and your involvement is critical as we move forward. As you are planning out your summer, please keep in mind if your son or daughter is planning to participate in a fall sport, football will start practicing on August 17 th and all other fall sports (girls soccer, volleyball, swimming, boys tennis and golf, and Coed Cross Country), will begin August 22 nd . A few members of the Flight Club spent a Saturday at SeaTac enjoying Alaska Airlines’ Aviation Day. The students were able to talk to employees in every field of aviation-engineers, pilots, flight attendants, air traffic controllers, airport security, flight instructors, computer programmers, and more. They were able to sit in Boeing 737 cockpits, inspect a high-ratio bypass turbofan jet engine, and fly a full motion flight simulator. We look forward to taking more flight club members to SeaTac next year.
