Recommendations target youngsters from 13 years old by starting with education, going through empowerment to
action in their professional life:

Assist WMO to strengthen its long-term youth outreach program by writing a strategy paper.

Purpose: create the foundation for action in the future
Increase knowledge
Creating awareness
Content: educational toolkit/programme provided by the WMO toschools and communities.
Challenges: budget
#2 Competitions
Target group: 13-15 year olds
Purpose: actively engage young students in certain topics byorganizing creative competitions.
Content: Creative forms of expressions in different themes.
Example: photo exhibitions about consequences of deforestation(can be off- and online)
#3 Volunteer Programme
Target group: 16-18 years old
Purpose: the first contact with professional organizations in the field of weather, water and climate.
Content: volunteering in WMO partner organizations
Challenge for WMO: establishing partnerships.
#4 Annual Youth Forum
Target group: 16-18 years old
Purpose: Sharing ideas and information by and for the youthattending
Content: Annual youth forum with a yearly specific theme,workshops and training opportunities.
#5 Youth Ambassador
Target group: 18 years and over
Purpose: young country representatives passing the messagesbetween WMO and the youth.
Content: one-year term hired by WMO and serving ascommunicator with the local or regional youth population.
The Forum and Ambassadors: Considerations for Incentives
Challenge for the WMO and needs more research is what to offer as incentives to the participant of the annual youth forum and the youth ambassadors
Q: What has to be covered by the WMO to have a balance between expenses and inclusiveness?
