Teachers who use Classroom Amplification Systems Report:• Increased comprehension of verbal directions• Increased academic achievement• Increased student participation, focus,

and attentiveness• Reduced need to maintain discipline as

students are better able to remain on task

• Reduced need to repeat instructions andincreased ability to cover more curriculum

• Reduced distractions from ambientand background noise

• Decreased teacher fatigue, vocal stress, and absenteeism

Typical classroom in which the students sitting in the rearof the class hear only 25% of what the teacher says.

With ORATOR, students sitting at the rear of the classroomcan hear just as well as those who are seated up front.

A Decrease of 10 dB= 50% Sound Loss

Additional Sound Lossof 50%

Sound Lossof 50%

Distribute Sound Evenly Throughout the Classroom

Listening Is Key to LearningHow well students hear their teacher affects how well theylearn. This is particularly critical in the classroom wherestudents are dependent upon speech communications 60%of the day.* Students in the back of the classroom can havemore difficulty listening to the teacher because sounddiminishes over distance.

Bogen's Orator system improves the level of the teacher'svoice or sound source and delivers it naturally, clearly, andequally to all areas of the classroom so that each studenthears the teacher as if they were sitting at the front of the class.

Bogen ORATOR:The Sound Solution for Every ClassroomThe Orator System uses wireless, infrared technology totransmit the presenter's voice from the microphone to areceiving unit. The system then amplifies the audio anddelivers it to strategically positioned audio speakers installedin the ceiling or on the walls. A/V equipment such asprojectors, televisions, or computers can also be connectedto the Orator system to ensure the clear and equaltransmission of audio throughout the classroom.

Noise Competition: Contending with Many SourcesWhen using the Bogen Orator, teachers can speak at their natural projected voice level andstudents in all parts of the classroom can hear at an equal level. Plus, the teacher hasfreedom of movement and can even turn around and face the chalkboard while speakingwithout any drop in voice level for any student in any part of the classroom.

INFRARED VOICE REINFORCEMENT SYSTEM

What Are Your Students Hearing?

Physics dictates how sound dissipates over distance. Whenthere is a single point of origin of a sound source, such aswhen a teacher speaks, sound decreases following the Inverse square law. This causes sound levels to drop ever morerapidly with increasing distance. For each decrease of 10 dB,sound intensity is cut in half. Thus a 57 dB level sounds half asloud as a 67 dB level, and a 47 dB level is half as loud as a57 dB level. The only way to combat this sound dissipation ina classroom is to electronically reinforce the sound sourceusing amplifiers and speakers.
