• Qualitative research can be considered a researchstrategy that usually emphasises words rather thannumeric quantification in the collection and analysis of data (Bryman and Bell, 2011).

• Qualitative research draws on data in the form of words,images and observations, recorded as a written note,photographs, audiotapes, videotapes or drawings, which

lend themselves to rich, thorough and detaileddescriptions of complex behaviours, processes,relationships, settings and system (Hanson, Balmer andGiardino, 2011).
