This 30’ box car with single door is painted freight car red with white shield logo with “East Broad Top” lettering and runs on brown Barber Coleman Arch Bar trucks. This car was a true transition car, being the experimental evolution from all wood to all steel construction. This particular car is a wooden structure with a steel underframe, previously a truss rod underframe. The letters ‘ORB’ located near the capacity weight stand for Orbisonia, PA. Their shops were also located there. The East Broad Top Herald displayed on this car was introduced in the 1940s.

This 30’ gondola is painted yellow with ‘The Gold Belt Line’ logo on black background on its side and runs on black Arch Bar trucks. Commonly called “coal cars” these cars were actually used for hauling ore, scrap iron, lumber and ballast as well. The city of Victor is in the heart of Colorado’s gold country, near the largest gold mines in the Cripple Creek mining district. Though most of the old mines are abandoned, modern mines still operate.
