Our heavily anticipated “Surge of the Heart” parish mission is just a few weeks
away! We encourage everyone in the parish to join us for a life-changing experience
with Jon Leonetti, an international Catholic speaker, radio host and best-selling
author of two books, from 7-8:15 p.m., Nov. 27-29 in the church.
Leonetti will give us both practical and effective ways to live, know and grow in
our Catholic faith. He will share stories of some of the greatest people to walk the
planet — our saints, and he will challenge us in our personal holiness to better fall in
love and stay in love with God. He has been featured on the nation’s top Catholic
websites, blogs and radio shows, and we’re excited to host him here.
FORGIVEN: The Transforming Power of Confession now available on FORMED
The latest addition to the Augustine Institute library of sacramental preparation
programs, “FORGIVEN” carefully explains the Church's teaching on the
Sacrament of Reconciliation, including a practical "walk through" of what happens
in the confessional and how every moment connects to scripture, tradition and
God's passionate desire to be with us. To create an account, go to
www.FORMED.org and type in the parish code: C63JK4.
“The truest crosses are those we do not
choose ourselves.”
-St. Rose Philippine Duchesne
Congratulations to our high school students who were
confirmed last Sunday by Bishop Morlino. May God
continue to bless and guide you along your never-ending
faith journeys. Please continue to keep these wonderful
young people in your prayers.
On November 27th, 28th and 29th, St. Bernard’s will host a
parish mission lead by Jon Leonetti. Jon is an international Catholic speaker and
author. The theme of the mission is “Surge of the Heart.” Our nightly presentations will focus on who is God, God’s desires for us and living out God’s plans.
A parish mission is an opportunity to embrace a positive experience of God, leading
to personal and ongoing conversion in a community environment. This will be a
great way for our parish to begin the season of Advent. Please extend an invitation
to all family members and neighbors to join us for these three nights. Parish
missions can be a time of great grace and an experience of the Word made flesh
among us and an occasion of healing and conversion for all who participate. Please
mark your calendars.
As we move into Advent, please note that we will hold a communal penance service
on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m. Either on the 6th or at other times throughout the
season, plan to make reconciliation part of your Advent experience.
Have a blessed week,
Fr. Brian
Under construction: Beginning Nov. 14, the carpeting in the par ish center
hallway and parish center meeting room will be replaced. The project will take
several days. If you have events in the parish center, there will be no access from the
hallway.

We invite you to write the names of your loved ones in this special book. They will be remembered in our parish prayer throughout the month.
REMEMBER ST. BERNARD PARISH IN YOUR WILL
Please consider making a gift to St. Bernard Parish in your will as a way of expressing your gratitude to God for all the blessings you have received from Him. The good we do lives on after us — if we make a will! An up-to-date will is the best way to provide for those we love and to continue our support of the good works at St. Bernard Parish.
