Meals for Fr. Melvin Many of you have inquired about making a meal for Fr. Melvin during his recovery from his recent knee surgery. If you would like to provide a meal for Fr. Melvin, please call the Parish Office, Tues-day - Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., as we will be coordinating his meal plans. Thank you! Weekday Mass There will not be weekday Mass during the month of August while Father is out with his knee sur-gery. Deacon John will have a communion service at St. Mary’s on Friday, August 7th at 12:00 pm. KJZT Quarterly Meeting KJZT Society #27 will hold their quarterly meeting on August 9th, 2020, after the 10:00 a.m. Mass in the day chapel. All members and non-members are welcome. Mass Attendance Information St. Mary’s and Holy Rosary will follow the state mandated guideline that requires persons 10 years of age and older that enter the parish to wear a face mask. We will also continue to keep 6 feet of distance between families. Mass attendance will still be limited to 25% capacity. Livestream Masses will be on Sundays at 8:00 am on the Holy Rosary Facebook Page and 10:00 am on the St. Mary’s Facebook Page. Attention Hospitality Teams All Hospitality Team Members must request that all parishioners, as they enter the building, put on a mask for Mass. There are masks available for those that do not have one on the table. This is a mandate from the State of Texas and we must adhere to it. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. St. Mary’s 125th Celebration - Cancelled Dear Parish Family: Much change has occurred this year in our lives and in schedules. As per correspondence from Bish-op Vasquez’ office dated June 26th 2020, we are advised to postpone all festivals, fiestas, and large events until the Spring of 2021.With this in mind and with heavy hearts, we are cancelling our Grand Event for the Celebration of our 125th year. Please keep St. Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes in your prayers as we continue through this Anniversary year. We will still plan on holding our St. Mary’s Mission from September 19th through September -23rd, 2020 with Father Bruce Neili. We are calculating the number of T-shirts being ordered and if we reach the minimum order allowed, those shirts will be processed. Order forms are located on the back tables of the church and on the website. Our beautiful banners adorn our walls and remind us of our legacy. “Cultivating Our Faith, Growing In Holiness Together.” In God’s Love, Jamie and Sherri Chmelar Updated Email Address For bulletin submissions and parish secretary email correspondence, please use the email address [email protected]. Please remove the previously used, [email protected] from your contact list. Spiritual Communion “Jesus, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, I love You above all things and I desire to pos-sess You within my soul. Since I am unable at this moment to receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as being already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.” -St. Alphonsus Ligouri
Welcome to Our Guest Priest This weekend we would like to welcome the Very Rev. Tim Nolt, Vic-ar for Priests. Please welcome him and thank him for serving our par-ish. Visiting Priest Coverage for the Remainder of August As Fr. Melvin continues to recover, the following priests will be at St. Mary's and Holy Rosary in the month of August. Fr. Frederick Bayler will be the visiting priest for the weekends of August 8th&9th, and Au-gust 15th&16th. Fr. Bayler will be hearing confessions at St. Mary's on Saturday at the regular time of 4-4:45 p.m. and at Holy Rosary, before Mass at 7:30 a.m. Fr. Antony with Cross Catholic Outreach will be here the weekend of August 22nd & 23rd. He will also hear confessions at the regularly scheduled times. Soles 4 Souls The Caldwell Burleson County Lions Club is having a shoe collection for Soles 4 Souls. Instead of throwing out your gently used shoes that you do not wear anymore, please consider donating them. By donating your shoes, you can give someone a life-changing opportunity. Wheth-er they are new or gently loved, your shoes can help lift people out of poverty. The goal is to try to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes. All styles, types and sizes will be accepted, as long as they are gently worn. The shoe drive is August 1st through August 31st, 2020. The drop off loca-tion is at the Caldwell Civic Center.
