Subject: Saved Candidate Search Emails and New, More Powerful Candidate Searches! You received this email because you have at least one Saved Candidate Search on Job Center of Wisconsin (JCW). Recently there was a change to the Saved Candidate Search email. We no longer send an email to you if there are no candidates that match your search criteria. If you haven’t reviewed your Saved Candidate Search in a while, please do so. We recently upgraded the Candidate Search feature: Boolean search operators can now be used. Word stem searches are done whenever you search by keyword. More information is included in the Search Results grid. Job seekers can now show you their own uploaded résumé or link to an online résumé. Current JCW Résumé Statistics Almost 45,000 résumés (or 75%) available on Job Center of Wisconsin are full résumés, with the

candidate’s contact information. Of those, over 5% are uploaded résumés, and about 1% are web linked résumés. Both numbers are

growing every day as job seekers utilize the new feature. Check out the new features for yourself: 1. Login on JobCenterofWisconsin.com with your Username and Password. Go to the Employer Tools

menu and click on Candidate Search.

Can’t remember your Username or Password? Use this link to attempt to recover your Username and/or Password. Enter the email address you used when you created your Username and Password. If you don't remember the email address you used, please call the DWD Service Desk at 608-266-7252 for assistance.

2. You can now use Boolean search operators in the Keyword field. Word stemming is also available. To

learn about the Boolean search operators and word stemming, click on the More Information link in the Keywords area. The ability to use Boolean search operators was one of the top requests at Employer Focus Groups conducted in Spring 2012.

3. Revising the Candidate Search Results grid was one of the top requests at Employer Focus Groups

conducted in Spring 2012. The Candidate Search Results grid has been updated as follows: The Preview column header has been renamed Candidate. The Occupational Preferences information was dropped and Education and Licenses, Certifications

and Awards were added. The new column is named Education. Last Date Emailed was moved into the Email column. Employers can mouse over the Candidate’s Number to see what type of résumé will be displayed. The Last Updated date is displayed in the Candidate column. The names of employers (up to three) have been added to the Work Experience column, except for job

seekers choosing to display an (anonymous) JCW Profile. Limitations on the amount of text displayed for each candidate, along with top justifying each

candidate’s information, results in a balanced view that is easier on the eye. An ellipsis (…) indicates when additional text is available.

The Search Results More Information link explains how candidates are scored, ranked and displayed.

4. If you find a candidate search that returns the kinds of candidates you are looking for, scroll to the bottom

of the Candidate Search Results and click on the Save Search button. Give your saved candidate search a name that will instantly identify the search for you. Avoid using vague terms, abbreviations, and acronyms. Decide if you would like to receive emails, and if so, enter your email address.

If you haven’t been satisfied with the results of your previous Saved Candidate Search, you may want to delete it and create a new one.

Some other things to keep in mind: Use the ‘Need help’ links within JCW. ‘Need help’ links are located in the upper right corner of most pages. Make sure you have JavaScript turned on. Don’t mark emails from Job Center of Wisconsin as spam, and don’t set up a filter in your email program to

filter out Job Center of Wisconsin emails. If you have done this, you need to reverse that action in your email program.
