    Vehicle Parking System

Today, with increasing number of vehicles, weusually find it difficult to park them.

Good time is invested to search a parking placeand by the time we find it, its too late, someonehas already occupied the space.

So, I thought of an idea that will help us to locate

a parking space and save our precious time.

    MY IDEA

My idea runs on a simple method as follows:

Each space in the parking lot has a configured transmitter.

It is a simple pressure switch inserted beneath the parking

space and is connected to a transmitter. It transmits signal within a short radius and is then

received by a vehicle (with GPS) which traces the signaland finds the vacant space.

When a vehicle is already parked, it transmits a signal thatindicates on the GPs that the parking spot is occupied.

While leaving the parking space, the pressure is off theswitch and it again transmits signal as available

    Application

    Theatres(20 x 500 vehicles/day = 10,000)

    Malls(20 x 1000 vehicles/day=20,000)

    Pay and park areas(20 x 1000 /day=20,000)

    4/5/6 star hotels (20 x 1000/day=20,000)

    Private places-clubs,marriage,party halls(20,000)

    Airports, railway stations, transport junctions,stadiums(10,000)

    Others.?

This concept should be initially piloted and tested to checkits success rate before implementation.

    Advantages

    1. If implemented in India, it saves time for all membersinside the vehicle Eg: 100000 vehicles/day x 1 min(searchtime saved) x 2 people/vehicle (avg) = 200000 min= 3330

hrs x 50 cities = 166500 hours every day2. It saves effort of at least 1000 people of parking service

provider, increasing productivity (less time more work)

    3. It saves cost (salary) of at least 100000 people in city of

    parking service provider x Rs.10000 pm=Rs.1,00,00,000pm.

    Advantages

    4. It will give better cost benefits in the long run as the costshall be recovered from customers.

    5. It can also reduce thefts . When the car is moved, the

device sends us a signal as an alert.

    Disadvantages

1.The receiver (vehicle) must have a compatiblesoftware.

    2. It will add to unemployment for unskilled people (justas any automation program does) and addemployment for skilled people to maintain thesystem

3.Electrical failures may create a panic/problem4.Rains and water logging (common in some cities likeMumbai) can be a big risk.

5.Maintenance of high technology may be costly
