JULIAN BENSONCF FOUNDATION

Julian was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 2.He was given a life expectancy of 13.

The Julian Benson CF Foundation gained its charitable status in late 2018.

PROJECT 1ACCOMMODATION FACILITYA caring, supportive accommodation facility for families of

CF patients during hospitalisations.Long-term hospitalisations are common for people with Cystic Fibrosis. CF affects people of all ages, from all areas of Ireland, who regularly come for treatment in Dublin, separating them from family; parents, siblings, spouses, partners and children

for long periods of time. The support of family and friends during these times is crucial.

Aside from the illness and stress of a hospitalisation, many families endure additional pressure, financial and emotional,

just trying to support their loved one.We believe no family should have to endure such hardships and

our facility will provide a home from home, enabling family members to stay in close proximity at a critical time.

PROJECT 2WELLNESS RESPITE RETREATA wellness, respite retreat where patients and their families

can go to spend time together, when they require supervision.We will provide a relaxing, medical-grade centre, where rest,

respite and recovery will be encouraged. Outside the confines of the hospital, patients and their families can stay whilst also

receiving IV treatments and vital physiotherapy with medical supervision.

Complimentary therapies such as reflexology, mindfulness and yoga will be offered, with balanced nutrition and family facilities;

all of which have been scientifically proven to speed up the recovery process.

For some families, their stay at our centre may be the last time the family spends together. We will aim to make their stay as

comfortable as possible.
