    Program Philosophy

    Win Within Baseball was created with the idea of serving the athletic, social, anddevelopmental needs and aspirations of local baseball players and their families. Program goalsinclude the development of young athletes as competitors and productive members of theircommunity. Winning is important, but teaching lessons about accountability, responsibility,team-building, sacrifice, and selflessness is a strong focus of our instructors and programs.There will be a focus on age appropriate curriculum; including and not limited to propermechanics, arm care/injury prevention, offensive and defensive game strategy, etc.

    Winter Overview

    Team practice Tuesdays at the Beauvoir gymo 10U = 5:30 6:30 p.m.o 11U = choose either time sloto 12U = 6:30 7:30 p.m.

    Sessions will start Tuesday, January 8 and end Tuesday, February 26

    Practice will focus on individual skill development and team concepts Combined cost for Winter + Spring = $850. A $200 deposit and signed player agreement

    is due ASAP to secure players roster spot.

    Spring Overview

    Season will start early April and end mid June Teams will practice once/week in NW DC location Combined cost for Winter + Spring = $850. A $200 deposit and signed player agreement

    is due ASAP to secure players roster spot.

    Roster Composition

    Rosters will range in size up to 14 players. For the 2013 spring season there will be tryouts to fillout roster spots for players who have not played on a WWB travel team before. Tryout date isNovember 11 from 2-3PM at the St. Albans School field. Players who have participated in WWBclinics, programs or lessons may be evaluated based on their performance and body of work in

    previous sessions and coach recommendations, therefore waiving tryouts. See Coach Larocquefor details.

    We understand that our players will have numerous commitments to school, family, and othersports during our busy spring season, and all possible accommodations will be made to helpour student-athletes balance their diverse workloads. Attendance at all WWB events isexpected, unless there is a communicated conflict typically made one week in advance.

    Schedule

    10U + 11U: BCC Select League: We are hoping to return to play in the BCC Select league, whichconsists of single games on Fridays and Sundays all in the Bethesda or Chevy Chase area. Therewill be one practice per week location TBD, in NW DC. Time and location of practices andgames will be communicated as soon as finalized. Players will be responsible for their owntravel. Practices will begin in early April and run through early June.

    12U: MCBA League: The 12U team will continue their playing partnership with the MCBAleague. Games will be played mostly on Fridays and weekends. There will be one practice perweek location TBD, in NW DC. Time and location of practices and games will becommunicated as soon as finalized. Players will be responsible for their own travel. Practiceswill begin in late March and continue through mid June, based on playoff schedules.

    Playing Time

    WWB will strive to provide each player with meaningful game experience, however playingtime may ebb and flow depending on and differing according to circumstance and need.

    Should there be any questions or concerns, players are strongly encouraged to initiatediscussion with their coaches in person; however email or parental communication is welcome.

    Team Uniforms & Equipment

    All players will be provided a game shirt and hat. Players are to wear their own white baseballpants and provide their own green socks and navy or black belt. Catchers should have theirown protective gear. Team equipment will include batting helmets, baseballs, trainingequipment, and first aid kits.

    Cost

    Winter + Spring: $850 per player

    The cost includes game fees, league registration, field rental, gym rental, insurance, coachessalaries, equipment, and uniforms. We are asking for a deposit of $200.00 to confirm yoursons roster spot. Full amount may be paid up front, if preferred.

    Waiver of Liability and Disclaimer

    I/we know that participation in the sport of baseball may result in serious or deadly injuries andprotective equipment does not prevent all injuries to players. I/we hereby waive, release, absolve,indemnify and agree to hold harmless Win Within Baseball, the organizers, participants, andcoaches from any claim arising out of the injury to my/our child whether the result of negligence

    or any other cause. In the event of an emergency where medical treatment is needed and I/we areunreachable, I give permission to the coaches/instructors to secure proper treatment and medicalcare for my child.

    In no event will Win Within Baseball or St. Albans School be liable for any damages, includingwithout limitation, direct or indirect, special, incidental, moral or consequential damages, loss of

    profits, opportunities or information or for expenses arising in connection with any servicesprovided.
