The Place of BirthWilliam Shakespeare is one of the most famous writers in England. He was born on the 23rd of April in 1564 in Stratford-on-Avon, a small English town.

His mother was a daughter of a farmer. His father was a glove-maker.

He was educated at the local Grammar School. William's father wanted his son to be an educated person.

Young William was fond of actor's profession and decided to become an actor.

When little over 18 William married Anne Hathaway of Shottery. They had three children. William lived in Stratford until he was about twenty-three. In 1587 he went to work in London.Shakespeare worked as an actor at the London theatre The Globe. He began to write plays. Most of his plays were performed in The Globe theatre.
