WILL / GOING TOThe two forms can sometimes be used interchangeably, they often express two different intentions.

I will probably go to London next summer.

I am going to fly to London next Saturday.

2.-Predictions based on what we think: I am sure she will like you

3.- Arrangements with other people (promises and offers): Don’t worry, I’ll go and buy some food for you.If we are not so certain about the future,

we use 'will' with expressions such as 'probably', 'possibly', 'I think', 'I hope‘, ‘perhaps’.

FUTURE TENSE: WILL FORM

• Affirmative: Affirmative: I will travel to Madrid in October

• Interrogative: Interrogative: Will you travel by bus?

• Negative: Negative: I will not travel – won´t

Will you travel by train or by bus?

I won’t travel by bus, but I will probably travel by train.

FUTURE TENSE: USES OF BE GOING TO

1.- Future plans and intentions: I am going to buy a new laptop computer next week

2.- Predictions based on what we can see at the moment; Look at that car! It is going to crash into the lamp post.

3.- For plans that do not include an arrangement with other people; I am going to spend three days in Medellin sightseeing.

• Interrogative: Are you going to travel by plane?

• Negative: I am not going to travel by plane because I am going to fly in a hot air balloon.
