Hands-on scientific investigation is the focus for the science fair. All projects will be based around two of our Core Knowledge Themes: Physical Sciences (magnetism, light and optics, sound, electricity, energy, physics, matter and properties of matter, chemistry, and simple machines) or Botany and Zoology (living things, ecology, plants and plant growth, animals and their needs, insects, classification, and evolution). Kindergarten students are welcome to show what they know, though they will not be judged in the fair. Each student that participates will be charged with creating a display that illustrates knowledge of one of these Core Knowledge Themes. This includes a description of their project (1st-3rd) or an illustration of the scientific method as it relates to their experiment (4th-8th). If your child is interested in participating, please fill out the student registration form on line. This can be accessed from the main WWA page, or if you CLICK HERE. You can also get a paper copy from the front desk, which can be handed in to your child’s teacher. Those who have submitted their intent to participate will be sent a packet with further information via e-mail after they register. This will include a pacing timeline, specific guidelines, and further information to get your child started. If you have any questions, feel free to email Jackie Uttley at [email protected]. You can find the themes for each day attached to this newsletter, or by clicking HERE. Don’t forget to join us Friday, November 9th after school in the gym and dining commons for the Bully Prevention Carnival sponsored by our Working Wildcats! Music News - Save the Dates! Save the date! Come and watch 3rd and 4th Grades perform "Welcome to the Jungle" for their Fall Music Program at 6pm in the Gym on November 8th. Please have students arrive in the Music Room at 5:40pm to get ready! Choir Concert Date Change! The Winter Choir Concert for Treble Makers and Wildcat Chorale will be held on Wednesday, December 12th at 6pm in the Music Room. Large group rehearsal for both choirs will remain the same on Monday December 10th from 3:30-5pm.

3RD/4TH MUSIC

PROGRAM Combined Music Production The WWA Music Department is excited to present our

version of “Welcome to the Jungle” put on by 3rd and 4th

grades combined. This short musical will include both

singing and spoken parts. Lines, roles and simple

costuming details will go home in the next few weeks.

Please mark your calendars and let your homeroom

teachers know ASAP if your child will be unable to attend

so that we can get all of the roles covered. Students will

need to arrive in the Music Room at 5:40pm to get ready

to perform.
