  • Peace Before, the idea of the European union was an unthinkable idea for the large part of the inhabitants thereof. But because of the two world wars that arose during the first half of the twentieth century, European nations were willing to join forces and put aside all rivalry. Uniting what they used materials for creating weapons in the war, as was the coal and steel.

  • Unification of Europe After the creation of the European union and the fall of the Berlin Wall helped the unification of Germany. In 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed and the countries that submitted were finally could be free to choose their future. And so countries began to join the European union.
