The Heart Guardian™ is an easy-to-wear, miniaturized, self-contained, Bluetooth or cellular-based ECG monitor for detecting cardiac arrhythmias and cardiovascular disease in real-time for pre-emptive treatments. Heart Guardian™ detects all arrhythmias (including asymptomatic) that could potentially be life threatening. Medical staff can be alerted immediately and preventative action taken. The device will improve the care of millions of heart disease patients, facilitate the prevention of fatal cardiac events and prevent further damage to the heart among individuals at high risk, reduce hospital readmission rates and treatment costs, and save lives.
Heart Guardian™ incorporates full Holter monitoring capability, together with dynamic cardiac monitoring. If a potential event is detected by the patient during Holter monitoring, he can record his comments during the evwwent, to provide additional information during the analysis of Holter type data. The Heart Guardian™ can also be utilized to monitor cardiac output in the treatment of cancer, in postoperative recovery and intensive care units, and in other hospital facilities, in which the patient’s heart has been or is experiencing abnormal stress.

This small, patient friendly, device secures to the chest in any location and orientation, is unobtrusive, can be used duringbathing. The self-contained unit contains three small juxtaposed sub-electrodes that replace typical wired ECG leads. Heart Guardian™ continuously acquires patient data to detect cardiac arrhythmias using a unique intelligent algorithm for patient-specific monitoring. It learns the baseline ECG patterns of an individual and progressively incorporates these patterns into its cognitive-detection memory, thus reducing the likelihood of
detecting false-positive arrhythmia events. It transmits to the hospital monitoring station, 6 channels of cardiac output in a low-level Bluetooth signal.
Because the device is small, wireless and adhered to the patient, it doesn’t get detached accidentally (when the patient turns over or walks around for instance) and enables the clinical staff to move the patient much more easily without having to pull cumbersome machinery alongside.

AMBULATORY PATIENT MONITORINGPatients at risk from heart attacks, and ambulatory patients requiring long term monitoring, can wear the device with confidence knowing that medical personal will be able to locate them and assist them immediately if needed. When Heart Guardian™ detects a cardiac event, 6 channels of information will be sent to the monitoring station. Medical personal at the monitoring station will use this comprehensive, real time data to determine the appropriate action to take. The device’s inbuilt GPS and mobile phone capability enables them to locate and communicate with the patient, send emergency services, or advise them to come to the nearest medical facility. Whereas classic ECG monitors exhaustively (power intensively) search ECG signals and filter electrical noise, Heart Guardian™ records only abnormal cardiac events, and detects, learns, and ignores electrical interference by searching for known patterns rather than filtering them. The Heart Guardian™ is the first ECG monitor to offer dynamic resource allocation based on ECG signal quality and cellular bandwidth capacity.
Furthermore, upon the arrival of an ambulance to transport a patient to the hospital, if the patient is not already utilizing Heart Guardian™, the device can be affixed to the patient’s chest, so that the hospital monitoring station can monitor the patient’s cardiac output during transport.
