Contributors have a wider view of their work and thus take pride in doing their work. The contributors focus is on achieving the larger goals of the team , rather than focusing only on his/her own personal success.

Rather,the contributor focuses on the responsibility he/she has been entrusted with in that role. The contributors image of self is not built on the pride of knowledge gained. Rather, he/she sees oneself as a learner , where he/she is always willing to learn and grow.

Thus , as a contributor , when you are thinking of applying for a job , look out for what the employer is looking for under each of these 4 categories. Employer looking for..   41. 41. 14.GROUP DISCUSSIONS ENGAGE LIKE A CONTRIBUTOR IN ANY GROUP DISCUSSION.
  42. 42. Purpose of the group discussion The GDs are conducted for measuring the person that how the person will be able to contribute in a team environment and think through issues in a group.
  43. 43. A GD is usually conducted in groups of 8-12 participants. A topic is announced and you are given time to think on that topic Actual discussion Conclusion or closure
  44. 44. 15. INTERVIEW SKILLS EXPLORE HOE TO GIVE A CONTRIBUTOR INTERVIEW
  45. 45. The contributor should have some information about the employer before going in the interview. Become well informed about the employer Check the company websites and brochures Check for the key people in the company Try to contact the people who are in working in the company Search for review articles , press releases , public writings etc.
  46. 46. Being well-informed about the company indicates our eagerness about the company or for a job and also shows that you are well prepared for new engagement. Prior knowing about the company also help us to ask intelligent question about the company during the interview. Learning more about the company will help us to assess and make a more informed final job decision.
  47. 47. If the job is well known , then before going to the interview , proactively find out what is the kind of work involved in the job role. Know how you can contribute in a job role Talk to the experienced people in work area Connect with people with similar job profiles over social sites Ask & explore questions posted on discussion boards in online professional forums Search newspapers having suggestions for common job roles Do a web search on the job role Talk to seniors from college who may have taken up jobs in that area
  48. 48. Every profession has its own standard of dressing. Before the interview, understand what is the expected attire, so that you can go appropriately dressed. An candidate must be in moderate dressing in an interview. Professional dressing on your part shows respect for your interviewer.
