Life-long Readers
Well-structured Phonics Program Develops Foundational Reading Skills QuicklyA systematic phonics program builds the relationship between sounds and their spellings so that learners are able to decode and sound out words, an important strategy to become a skilled reader.
Systematic Reading Instruction Develops Avid Readers Attractively illustrated readers with meaningful activities reinforce the phonics focus in the unit to develop reading fluency quickly and effectively.
Learners develop phonemic awareness as they practice sound-spelling relationships.
The phonics word bucketreinforces the phonics sound – spelling learned. In this instance, images starting with the ‘h’ sound are selected during the reading process.
While-reading questionshelp learners focus on dierent parts of the text and are tailored to the purpose of each reading.
5
Post-reading activities develop critical thinking skills and provide a quick and fun way to recap and reinforce learning.
Learners can re-read and enjoy the same story read in class with tear-outs of the readers at the back of their Activity Books.
Reading response activities encourage learners to think deeper and develop their reading comprehension skills.
6
Meaningful Conversations, Eective Communications
Explicit Vocabulary Instruction Targeting High Frequency WordsLearners are introduced to frequently-used words within the theme of each unit and learn the meaning of these words as well as how to pronounce them.
A Focus on Speaking Skills Develops Eective Communicators Oral communication is at the heart of the program. Essential language skills are developed in context and built up gradually so that learning is meaningful.
New words are introduced in a relatable context for meaningful learning.
New words learned are applied in sentences within everyday contexts and are practiced in an interactive way through catchy songs and chants.
