We’ve had questions concerning the 2016 CMA Festival. No, there are no plans for Donna to be there this year. Her travel obligations and rigorous deadlines on various projects must take priority. We appreciate your understanding. We wish you a safe trip and a wonderful fun time for you if you are making the journey. Thanks for all the orders of her current book, MY PRAYER FOR YOU. It was such a pleasure to be at your book signing and meet you for the fi rst time! You are a sweetheart. ~ Tonya Graybeal JacksonOh Donna.... I just LOVE my 2016 calendar - My Prayer For You. It’s so beautifully illus-trated, and I love the wide spaces that I can write in, but most of all, I love your writing. I look forward to your next book and/or calendar!! ~ Chris DavenportIt was SOOOO GREAT SEEING YOU!!! BTW, Vania MsVee Edwards sends her LOVE and has read the book already! She just got it yesterday!!! SHE LOVES IT!!! THANKS for all the WONDERFUL MEMORIES!!! LOVE YOU!!! ~Everett Drake When I get down. I like to read what you wrote for the month of May (in your 2016 calendar) and I read it often. ~Sheraton Johnson

It was good seeing Donna and her fan club people. Need more books for next signing. A good time for all who were able to attend! ~Rena Tessier“Thank you so much for your book. I’ve already started reading it and know it is full of wisdom and inspiration.” ~ Chandler SwopeDonna, I pretend you wrote “Don’t Ever Forget What A Treasure You Are” to me. It’s such a beautiful poem. ~Dana PlassmeyerI’m not a particularly religious person but I fi nd that the words in your books and calendars encourage me to take time to pray everyday, and I appreciate that. The month of March in your 2016 calendar tells me I can make it, so I love that. Thank you for touching my heart. ~Carrie FletcherDonna, I don’t know if you’ll ever see my letter...but I have to at least try. I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know who you were until my mom gave me the complete set of your books for my birthday....with each one being autographed to ME!!! After reading all of them - many times over, I think I might be addicted. I can hardly wait to turn the page to see what’s coming next. Never have I felt so touched by words on a page. You give me encouragement to think I can do anything I want to do. You give me a different perspective on life that makes me think in more than one way. You have said that the greatest gift is love. I didn’t believe that really but it makes me want to open my heart again after it’s been broken. You make me want to trust in myself again, and you make me think that everything is going to be alright. I have since gone to YouTube and your website to fi nd out all I could about you. I have listened to much of your music. It comes to no surprise that you have written almost all the songs on your albums. What a powerful song “That Was Yesterday” is! I hope you never stop writing. I look forward to whatever comes next. And Donna..... I Prayed For You Today. ~Connie Hess

The Story Behind the Song

I always like to explore the depth of an inspired idea that has any truth in it for me or others I know personally. The reason I wrote the spoken “disclaimer” at the front was so that listeners would keep their balance when they listened to it. Music is a way to touch the soul, to make people feel the way we all may feel at times when we have to deal with rejection and heart-ache. Sadness shared, like happiness, is a way that brings us all together, especially when the words and feelings that music touches in us speaks to us.The important thing is to keep balanced, to remember that all we have is our life and each person has the right to live it the way he or she wants to. It’s so important, too, not to alienate ourselves too much because people with all our different ideas help us to keep our emotional well being. We can’t make people love us - love must come from the depths of the heart and be shown and given freely. All we can do for someone we love who perhaps doesn’t love us is pray for them and their happiness and wish them well. This song is about the hardcore heartache of disappointment without the balance of time and experience and understanding and maturity......Thank you for the question. ~Donna

Have you ever listened to a Donna Fargo song and thought to yourself...gosh, I’d like to ask her why she wrote a particular song or what was she thinking about when she wrote that song or what did she mean by a particular phrasing she used or what is the backstory of a song? Donna does get a lot of questions like these.....sooooo, that is how this section of the newslet-ter was born. Periodically, we will feature one or more questions like the one below. If you have a question you’d like to ask Donna, send it to us via email to Donna [email protected] or [email protected] or snail mail to Post Offi ce Box 210877, Nashville, TN 37221.

Donna, I am such a big fan of all your music. It brings back such sweet memories. It’s so pos-itive, inspiring, and uplifting.....but there’s one very sad song you wrote that has me scratch-ing my head. Why did you write the suicide song called “Forever Is As Far As I Can Go”?

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments about my books, calendars, and songs. I appreciate your support more than I know how to say. I love you so much. ~ Donna
