Glass Animals – Negas’ theory Due to the song being in the

genre of indie/alternative, we wanted to replicate this in the music video, in terms of the star image we are presenting of the artist.

In terms of Negas’ theory of organic vs synthetic, the original band, “Glass Animals” are shown as organic

This can be seen through the presentation of the band, such as they are often not shown in their videos, the quite often present candid photos to the audience and are dressed in simple, everyday clothes, as if they are “one of us”.

Glass Animals – Dyers Star Theory

From looking at what Glass Animals have promoted about their music, using Dyer’s Star Theory, you could say that the band are constructed as abstract, quirky and mysterious.

They use a lot of colour on their new media, possibly because the newest album has a lot of colour and pixilated effects.

How we would promote our band Our idea for a music video is

quite mysterious, eerie rebellious and quirky, following the whole themes of the song by Glass Animals.

The band is in the music video, yet there is a lot of smoke and red lights, to make it seem as if the audience cannot properly see their faces, to make it seem as if (using Dyer’s theory), that they have been constructed to seem mysterious and almost intimidating, to that the audience are interested in seeing more (star as absent, yet present).

How would we promote the band? Using Negas’ synthetic vs

organic ideas, we definitely want to promote the band as organic, due to the indie/alternative style of the song.

Therefore, we would put them in everyday, unflashy clothes, not have them looking at the camera and only use them in one setting of the music video.
