Cypress Elementary is more than a building with students and teachers. Cypress is a community. A community

involved WITH our students FOR our students.

Family Involvement Superhero Day! The first Wednesday of each month is officially SUPERHERO DAY! Students and staff are invited to dress as a superhero for the day. As always, no masks and no toy weapons.

Boosterthon What a great fundraising experience! We surpassed our goal and had great team building experiences in our classrooms, within the grade level teams, and as a school! Here is some data we are proud to share! Total Pledged: $37,501.50 School Profit: $23,092.24. Pledges were received from 38 states and 4 countries! 60 Meals have been donated to a local organization by Boosterthon (3 meals each times a class reaches $30 a lap).

FSA Testing FSA Testing has begun for the year, with our 4th and 5th grade students taking the Writing FSA. ON TESTING DAYS CLASSROOM SCHEDULES, INCLUDING LUNCH TIMES, WILL BE DIFFERENT. PLEASE CHECK THE CALENDAR BEFORE COMING TO LUNCH! We have a school calendar and testing dates attached for your convenience. Volunteers If you are an approved volunteer and have not received an email from the Volunteer Coordinator, please email [email protected]. If you applied to volunteer and are waiting approval but want to come help with an event, please email the volunteer coordinator so we can get you approved!

Community Involvement

Adopt A Class We are pleased to support our teachers by facilitating the Adopt A Class Program. The following families/businesses have sponsored a teacher/special area at Cypress by donating $100-$150. For a complete listing of participants, please visit our webpage.

Business Partners We are truly grateful for all the support we receive from our Cypress community! Without the donation of volunteer time, goods/services, and of course financial donations, many of our programs would not be as successful.

2016-17 Business Partners

Riverwalk Publix, McDonald’s (Jose Hernandez/HMCC MGMT. Corp), Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, Inn on the Gulf, Astro Skate, Mama Mia Pizzeria, Regis Lima Martial Arts, Culver’s, and Mathnasium. LOST and FOUND Each month, one of our staff members goes through the lost and found items. If the item has a student name, it is given back to the student. All items without a name are bagged, laundered and given to a local charity. While we love helping the community, we would like to see our cubs with their belongings. Please label your child’s sweaters and jackets.
