1. Insert the Center Program CD into CD driver and move to folder “KSR Center\Data 1”on the CD

2. Double click on “setup.exe” to run the Setup program

3.Click on [Next] button.

4. Check the box "I accept the License Agreement" and click on [Next] button.

5.Enter the path to install the KSR Center program, and click on [Next] button.

6. The program is being installed.

7. After the program is completely installed, click on [Finish] button.

8. On the desktop "KSR Center", "KSR Remote Backup Server" and "KSR Intelli Upgrader"icons will be created as shown below.Double-click on "KSR Center" icon to run the Center program.

1.Double-click on "KSR Center" icon on the desktop to load the Center Program.

2.Password is required to run the Center Program. By default no password is set up,just click [OK] to continue.

① [Date/Time] displays the current date and time. ② [Live]: Click to shows the live video from the Site. ③ [Search]: Click to search over the data stored on the Site (when the Site is

① Click on [Setup] to open the setup'sscreen for the Center Program (theSite must be disconnected)

②The setup's screen is shown on theleft.Click on [OK] button to save thesettings you changed and return tothe initial screen.Click on [Cancel] to return to theinitial screen without saving thesettings that have been changed.

Setup Configuration

①[Preservable]

�The Center will keep trying to connect to theSite during the time specified in the[Preservable] box. 60 seconds is minimalvalue you can set here.

②[Display sensor/control bar]

�Check the box to display Status Bar of theSite's sensors and controls on the initialscreen.

③[Live screen data save]

�Check the box to save the live image fromthe Site to the local hard disk in the CenterPC. Later you will be able to search over thedata after disconnection from the Site.

④[Remote search data save]

�Check this box if you want to save data tothe local hard disk in the Center PC duringa remote search session. Later you will beable to search over the data afterdisconnection from the Site.

Select the type of Site-Center connection:�For a normal telephone line or ISDN line

(without a router), select "PSTN/ISDN (NoRouter)."

�For LAN,ADSL or leased circuit (with a router),select "LAN/ISDN Router/Leased circuit -Router"

①After a site is connected, the list ofavailable cameras at the site isdisplayed here. Select cameras youwish to view live images from byclicking on the corresponding camerabuttons.

②Click on [Live] to see live images fromthe selected cameras.

7.3 Playback The Stored Data

① [Playback buttons]

Move to the first recorded data of theselected datePlaying one frame backwardReverse playbackStopForward playbackPlaying one picture forwardMove to the last recorded data of theselected date

② [SKIP]

Skips number of frames assigned in [SKIP]when playing back. This increases play rateand may be useful when searching over along period of time.

③ [SPEED]

Displays each frame for longer periods oftime. This function may be useful whenexamining a short recording carefully.

①[Zoom] Click on this button to zoom in and out the currentdisplayed image. 5 zoom levels are available

②[Digital Zoom]You can choose mouse right-click mode here. Mouseright-click can be used to zoom in, out, or move thescreen image. To use Digital Zoom, you must haveone channel selected. There are 13 zoom levels.

[Zoom In]When you select [Zoom In], the cursor will changeinto a plus sign. You can zoom in by right clickingon a frame.

[Zoom Out]When you select [Zoom Out], the cursor willchange into a minus sign. You can zoom out byright clicking on a frame.

[Move]When you select [Move], the cursor will changeinto a hand. You can move the screen by holdingthe right mouse button and dragging on a frame.

7.4 Zooming in/out and Moving

☞ [Tips]�For small images zooming out can

distort them. Kodicom's compressionengine "X-Engine CODEC" isdeveloped to minimize this problem.

�Zooming the searched image can bedone only with one camera. Zoomingis impossible when searching overmultiple cameras at one time. When insplit screen mode, stop playing backand click on a channel you wish tozoom in or out.

7.5 Image Adjustment

[Image Improvement]

[Brightness]Adjust brightness of the displayedimage

[Contrast]Adjust contrast of the displayedimage.

[Smooth & Sharpness]Smoothen and sharpen the displayedimage.

[Noise reduction]Reduce noise in the displayed image.

[Deskew]Flatten and rotate the displayedframe for better view if the camerawas recording at tilted angle.

[Gamma correction]Adjust balance between brightnessand contrast of the displayedframe. This function may be usefulif the color of the frame looksabnormal.

[Rotation]Rotate the displayed frame 90。,180。, 270。, flip horizontally, and/orvertically.

[Restoration]Restore the displayed frame'soriginal parameters.

☞ [Tip]All the image-adjusting functions are onlyavailable to one channel at a time. Whenin split screen mode, stop playing backand click on a channel you wish toadjust.

7.6 Audio playback

① [Audio Playback Configuration]

When select a channel with recorded audio, "Audio Setup" button is

enabled. Click on the button to change audio settings for the channel:

• Enable audio playback by check the box "Enable"

• Adjust the audio volume using scroll bar "Volume control"

☞ [Tips]�Only one audio channel can playback at a time (for both Live Mode and Search Mode)

�Due to the video and audio synchronization you may not see video images for 1~3 seconds

�Audio can only be played back in forward mode. Reverse Playback or Frame Playback are not

available.

�Skip and delay functions cannot be used with audio playback

�When switch from Live Mode to Search Mode, the microphone is automatically set mute.

(when back to the Live Mode, the original state of the microphone will be restored.)

Click on the button to print the selected image.

7.7 Printing

! [Warning]- A printer must be installed (see next page for instruction)- Printing is possible only for a single still image. When in split screen mode, stop playing back andclick on a channel to select an image you wish to print.

- It is recommended to print after adjusting size and brightness of the image- Printout is the same size as the original image on the monitor

9.1.1 For KSR 204, 304M, 404 models

• To display PTZ status of the installedcameras

②Sensor Type

• To set the sensor's type (NC or NO) NC: Normally Close Type SensorNO: Normally Open Type Sensor

• Click on the button to switch between NCand NO types (Default is NC)

③Beep

• If the box is checked, the Center PC'sinternal speaker will beep when thesensor triggers. It is useful for on-spottesting.

• If "Continuous Recording" was set in therecording schedule, this function will notoperate.

④Control

• Check the boxes to use the control relays.

⑤Operation Time

• If a sensor triggers, the correspondingcontrol(s) will be active during the timespecified in the box. Maximal value is 30sec, default value is 0 sec.

• [Sensor Num]: Choose a sensor you wish tosetup

• [Control]: Choose controls to connect to thesensor. The controls will be activate if thesensor triggers.

④[Sensor-Camera]This menu is used to setup which sensorconnects to which camera.• [Sensor Num]: Choose a sensor you wish to

setup• [Camera]: Choose cameras to connect to the

sensor. The cameras will record if the sensortriggers

⑤[Control/Control Operation Time]• If a sensor triggers, the corresponding

�The cells of the Motion Detection area arehighlighted.

③[Recording Image Adjustment]

Adjust the color, brightness, and contrastof the selected camera.

�The values range is 0 ~ 255. By default theyare all set to 128

�This function is used to adjust thesensitivity of motion detection ofthe select camera. Five levels ofsensitivity are supported.

�Select an image from the search screen (only

single still image can backup to floppy disk).

Then, click on button to display "Backup"

window as above.

�Select [Floppy Backup] and click on [Setting up]

button. Then the "Watermark checker Copy"

dialog box will appear as shown below:

�Select "Yes" to backup the selected image and copy Watermark Check program to the floppy

disk.

�When backup many images to the same floppy disk, Water Mark Check program needs to be

copied only once.

12.1 Floppy Disk Backup

☞ [Note]- The backup format is JPG- Watermark is used to check authentication of the saved image (see next page)- Despite the name "Floppy Backup" not only floppy disk can be a backup medium, local HDD orremovable drive can be used for Floppy Backup as well

- With [AVI backup], it is possible to selectcameras to backup from. User can backupmaximum 5 minutes of video data at a time.

backup.

④ [Backup Media]�Click to select media to save backup data. �The user can select the local hard disk,

removable drive and network drive but notfloppy drive.

⑤ [Select CODEC]�With [AVI backup], it is possible to select

codec type. (MPEG4 Video Codec v2 orhigher is recommended because ofperformance issue)

- Intelli Upgrader is software used to remotely upgrade Kodicom's DVR system software

Run "Intelli Upgrader" program by double-clicking on its icon on the Center PC's desktop.The icon is created during installation of theCenter Program.

1. [PPP Setup using KPPPSetup.exe Program]

• To set up PPP connection for PSTN/ISDN,run KPPPSetup.exe. The program islocated in the folder where the CenterProgram is installed (usually it isC:\KSR_Center as shown in the pictureabove)

2. [Preparation to Installation]

• The MS Windows Installation CDs areneeded.

• A modem is installed in MS Windows.• If no modem is installed, running

KPPPSetup.exe may give unexpectedresult. Remember to run it only afterinstallation a modem.

3. [Running KPPPSetup.exe]

• KPPPSetup.exe will automatically install

PPP connection for you. Except if you areprompted to insert the MS WindowsInstallation CDs, don't do anything untilthe program finishes its work.

• Reboot the Center PC after completingPPP setup by the program.

• After the system is rebooted, checkconnection Center-Site using Centerprogram.

2. Manual ISDN Setup without a Router

1. [Rational for using manual setup]

• KPPPSetup.exe can setup ISDN automatically. However, depending on the ISDN modem, itmay be necessary to manually setup dial-up connection servers if there are many servers.Manual setup procedure is described below.

• Before manual set up, you should use KPPPSetup.exe to setup first dial-up connection server. • The following description is for MS Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows 2000.

�Select "My Computer" and"Telephone ConnectionNetworking." from thewindows backgroundscreen.

�Select "Connections" → "Dial-Up Server"from the menu.

�Select "Allow caller access."
