St Hilda’s Fund – Diocesan Funded Curacy

The training of curates is of fundamental importance to our church’s future. In the past, however, their Placement has often tended to be limited by practical considerations such as funding and housing.

Now – an opportunity for a centrally-funded Diocesan curacy because:

It is important that curates be trained in a charge which offers them the best range of experience and expertise of supervision, whether or not the curate can be fully paid by the charge

It would offer a more ongoing and interactive relationship with the diocese throughout the training period.

It is possible for any congregation to apply to be the training ground for a diocesan funded curate. All that is required is for the Supervising Rector to provide evidence of his or her experience and gifts in supervising and mentoring and for the charge to explain why it would be a good place for a curate to continue their formation.
