1. Meat/Meat Alternate : 1-2 ounce (Grades K-8) 2 ounce (Grades 9-12)

Meat alternate: non-meat items that contain protein example: yogurt, peanut butter, cheese

2. Grain: 1 serving = 1 slice of bread, ½ cup pasta or rice, 1 roll

3. Vegetables: ¾ cup (Grades K-8) • 1 cup (Grades 9-12)

4. Fruit: ½ cup (Grades K-8) and 1 cup (Grades 9-12)

5. Milk: ½ pint (8 fluid ounces)

The correct portion size must be offered!
