Have you got the right equipment?

Please recycle all your food waste using the brown bin service.

Bins should be left out the night before a collection or by 6am on the collection day. Please do not leave your bins on the footpath for long periods of time to avoid causing a nuisance or obstruction.

Whenever you need to empty your caddy, tie the top and put it into your brown bin.

Line your kitchen caddy with one of the liners and put your food waste in it.

To request more caddy liners, place your red tag onto the handle of your brown bin and collection crews will supply more. Please remove this tag after liner delivery.

Food waste that isn’t recycled is left to rot in landfill. You can recycle unwanted food, food that can’t be eaten or out of date food through your brown bin service. Food waste collected in your brown bin is recycled into compost at a local composting facility and can be re-used.

A lot of people find that keeping it under the sink, or next to the kitchen bin or on a work top is really practical. Remember you can use your own container if you prefer something more stylish or that fits in better with your kitchen.

You can recycle all your organic food and garden waste through your brown bin all year round. Place all your loose organic garden waste into your brown bin.
