AUDIENCE FEEDBACK

Audience feedback is vital for our group, as it enabled us to evaluate our work from their opinions; this allowed our group to improve our music video to suit our target audience. Examples were special effects and scene plots were changed to make it more successful and entertaining for our niche audience. We used many different tools get audience feedback such as social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube, and questionnaires that were given out at our school as it hit a large amount of our targeted audience.

QUESTIONNAIRE

We asked a variety of questions which included questions that were closed and questions that were open, which allowed our group to get a huge amount of feedback that verified many different opinions. It also allowed us to identify our target audience.

ANALYSIS ON QUESTION 1

For our first question we asked our questionnaire people how our ancillary poster could be developed and improved to catch their eye. We got very good feedback from several different people, these were the good points:

1. Star Persona covering a large amount of poster – would help sell the product.

2. The links between our music video and poster – to improve this we added our time lapse as the background of the poster.

ANALYSIS ON QUESTION 2

Through the second question we got many replies that we added to our music video to improve it, these were:

1. Storyline – We had a lot of feedback on our storyline, saying that it needed to be more engaging, as there was a lot of lip-syncing beforehand. After seeing this we created a story element to our music video to make it more interesting.

2. Mise En Scene – We got huge feedback on our costume designs saying that we had great costume ideas for the tramp, but not so good for the other characters, so we redesigned the costumes.

ANALYSIS OF QUESTION 3

For question 3, we thought we wouldn’t get as much detailed feedback as the other questions, but we got huge feedback on our digipak, these were the results:

1. Links between products – A lot of our feedback consisted of people saying that they liked the link of city life between all 3 texts.

2. Personal – They liked how we personalised our track list of a homeless man holding up a board with the tracks

3. Lighting of pictures – People suggested to us that our lighting was too bright to portray a sad effect, so we darkened these images to make it more depressing.

HOW WE USED SOCIAL MEDIA?

We used the internet, to get a vast range of feedback as well. Websites we used were YouTube and Facebook. We got more of a variety of feedback from this audience feedback, as we had a much larger audience and a wider range of cultures commenting on our music video and ancillary products.

Facebook – This allowed us to ask our friend group questions about our media piece and also other people that study A2 Media which allowed us to get detailed feedback.

YouTube – This allowed us to get a diverse range of cultures commenting on our music video, allowing us to get an outside view of our music video, who do not know the background or context of the work
