what causes a gas pedal to stock
TRANSCRIPT
The gas pedal of a car is responsible for injecting correct air fuel mixture to
engine that boosts the speed of vehicle.
An Automobile has different type of pedals
Clutch Pedal : It’s normally operated by right foot & is present if the Automatic Transmission is not available.
It’s located just above
the car floor.
Brake Pedal
Throttle Pedal
Its narrow size gives space to
the driver’s heel to rest on floor.
It controls the injection process of Fuel and air to engine.
Accidents Caused By Gas Pedal Problem
What are the Causes that lead to create Problem In Gas Pedal…???
Sometimes drivers face problem while pressing accelerator pedal caused by upward floor mat.
Fade of Frictional wear in the brake mechanism
Friction Mechanism
Used by all type of vehicles
Friction fade is also known as
mechanical fade or fluid
fade.
The other causes include damage in the throttle cable, gas pedal assembly, throttle body or
carburetor.
Step 1
You need to move the pedal to observe it closely
If the surrounding of gas pedal looks black then make sure to look for a missing cable
Disconnect throttle and cruise control cable
Move the Throttle lever to see whether it’s coming back to the pre-moved position or not
Move The gas pedal to observe the Throttle Lever
If the throttle cable looks loose or bend then adjust with the help of tool
Step-2 Check the Throttle Body and carburetor
Install a new spring if a new throttle is not installed
If no obstruction then there must be a problem in return spring
Check for obstruction inside the throttle body
Step-3
Disconnect the car Engine
While driving if it seems like your car keeps on accelerating ,then it’s time to disconnect the engine from driving wheel.
How To disconnect the Engine from vehicle In Multi-Engine types..?
In manual Car engine : Press down the clutch for switching of the engine
In Automatic Car engine : Click the transmission into neutral mode.
Is that the sudden stop of the engine is going to cause any damage..??
No..After disconnecting the Engine, the Rev limiter controls the overload and prevents from any sudden accidents.
Slowdown and stop the vehicle on a safe place near the road, after disconnecting the engine
Turn off the ignition
system after parking .
Is there any other solution available if these steps
wouldn’t work ???
Disconnect the Fuel Injection system
Brake
Mechanism
Petroleum vehicles :
more effort is required to press the
brake
Check out the road
surface and speed before
pressing brake
The cable can be fried if press
partially
Brake hard to stop the
car
If the car still not stopping or decelerating then turn off the engine while your vehicle is moving.
Engine off causes luck in steering wheel in some cars
Still the momentum of car can be controlled by losing power-steering
If all these efforts go in vain, then try to apply the hand brake gently and foot brake with strong pressure.
