What are 3G and 4G? First of all, lets discus about “G”, basically it stands for “Generation”. Generation of wireless technology, every generation is more secure, faster and reliable. There are different technology generations 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G. Each generation has standards that must be met to officially use the generation technology. These standards are quit confusing, the definition of these generations are as follow; 1G This was the first generation of cell phone technology. Simple phones were all able to do the calls. 2G The second generation of cell phone technology. Some more features were added to the 1G such as simple text messaging. 3G This generation was the third generation of cell phone technology. This generation of wireless handles almost 2 megabits per second. It set the standards for most of the wireless technology. Email, web browsing, downloading (pictures and videos), sharing and other smartphone technology were presented in the third generation. 4G This is the latest and faster generation of this technology called as fourth generation. What are 3G and 4G?

First of all, lets discus about “G”, basically it stands for “Generation”. Generation of wireless technology, every generation is more secure, faster and reliable. There are different technology generations 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G. Each generation has standards that must be met to officially use the generation technology. These standards are quit confusing, the definition of these generations are as follow;

This was the first generation of cell phone technology. Simple phones were all able to do the calls.

This generation was the third generation of cell phone technology. This generation of wireless handles almost 2 megabits per second. It set the standards for most of the wireless technology. Email, web browsing, downloading (pictures and videos), sharing and other smartphone technology were presented in the third generation.

This is the latest and faster generation of this technology called as fourth generation. The speed and standards of this technology of wireless is 100 Megabits per second and up to 1 Gigabit per second. It needs to share the network resources to support more synchronized connections on the cell. 4G could exceed the speed of the average wireless home broadband Internet connection. Very few devices are capable of the full control of 4G yet.

With this Generation technology users can grow towards the era of technology. In Pakistan 3G and 4G technologies are recently launched, Pakistan joins the 3G and 4G world in Apr 23, 2014 with the collaboration of PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority). There are 4 mobile networks that are taking advantage of 3G and only one have the crown of using 4G. 3G covers 45% of the world with its It is supposed with the launching of this technology that Pakistan will make a new place in Technology world.
