The way the media works these days it’s more focussed on highlighting everything that’s wrong with the world and giving little coverage to anything that’s good or right.For me, too much bad news will ultimately affect the way we feel and think about everything and I think it would be fair to say, that’s not conducive to building a happy, contented society. If we’re to have a balanced view of things we also need a good measure of news each day that we can feel good about. Photo News can’t totally solve this but we can play our part. For that reason, we have put together this collection of photographs hoping to remind those who see it “what a (great) town we live in”. Our inspiration for the theme comes from the feel good jingle introduced several years ago by West Orange Motors. After all these years, it still stirs the emotions and reminds us to remember with pride ‘what a town we live in’. I personally, regard it as Orange’s unofficial anthem. Our thanks go to Knox and the team at West Orange Motors for allowing us to use their theme in this way.Our photographs feature a variety of subject matter and come from a number of sources over a period of time. They have all been taken by local photographers and we have included the photographer’s name where appropriate.I trust you will enjoy browsing through the photos and as you do, I hope it inspires you to appreciate the beauty we enjoy here in Orange even more and perhaps look at our city and its facilities through different eyes in future.Please enjoy!
