Call to Confession 10:30 Sarah BrouwerThe congregation is invited to approach God with humility, seeking God’s mercy.

Prayer of Confession (Unison)God of grace, you brought the Church into being long ago, and people have loved you for generations. We confess the Church needs renewal today. We have lost the vision of your lively people in other times and places. We lack convic-tion. We fear the future. We do not trust your Spirit to stir the Church. Awaken us, we pray. Surprise us. Summon from us a response that holds fast to the hope that is ours in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.

Silent PrayerWorshippers seek God’s forgiveness in their own lives.

Assurance of God’s Forgiveness (from Romans 8; II Corinthians 5)One: Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Friends, hear the good news: All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Alleluia! Amen.

Following the Assurance, children ages 4–1st grade are invited to Children’s Church.
