Writing WorkshopsOne important task in this class is peer evaluations, which we will accomplish during writing workshops throughout the course. To achieve full points for these, you will need to bring three copies of your complete essay drafts to class on the date indicated in etudes, and you will have the opportunity to work in small groups to help your classmates improve their drafts and your own.

SI SessionsOur Supplemental Instructor will conduct weekly sessions outside of class. You are required to attend a minimum of three sessions.

Presentation There will be one presentation in this class. While the class is not a public speaking class, you should make every effort to offer a strong presentation.

PortfolioA bound portfolio with a cover letter and a second revision of one of your essays is due on the day of the final. This is a printed assignment that you must hand in to get credit for. No late portfolios will be accepted.

PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is a form academic dishonesty usually taking the form of presenting another person’s ideas as your own. Willful acts of plagiarism may lead to failure in the course or more severe penalties imposed by the college and could result in suspension or expulsion.

As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to

collaboration. Other people and other people's ideas are often

better than your own. Find a group of people who challenge and

inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your

life.
