West Cheshire Federation (South Road) Presentation 2014
Friday 14th November 2014 saw the combined Hooton HS and West Cheshire Federation
presentation evening. Hooton HS being one of the best organised flying clubs in the locality with a
huge array of club trophies along with the federation trophies meant the trophy table was a sight to
behold which unfortunately is a rare a sight these days. Congratulations to the Hooton HS for
arranging such a display and presentation along with our federation hierarchy for an enjoyable
evening with great company and excellent entertainment.

The host and compare for the evening was Morris Thornhill, although not mentioned through the
evening Morris has had to give up keeping and racing his pigeons due to pigeon lung but has
stalwartly stayed in the position of club secretary for the Victoria HS and many thanks for his
continued participation in the prize giving evening.
Special guest for the evening was Ted Shore. Ted has been a figure head in pigeon racing in the
locality for quite some years and it is a testament to his high standing within the sport that he was
invited to present both the Hooton HS prizes along with West Cheshire federation prizes.
A Special thank you also to Mrs Jenny Dodd and husband Ronnie Dodd for all the hard work that has
been put in this year operating the federation and allowing the local fancy to thrive and prosper
again this season.
The presentation got underway with the Hooton HS prize presentation. The West Cheshire
Federation prize presentation got under way with presentation of the thank you bouquets to the
well-deserved recipients followed by the individual prize presentation. The highlights of the evening
being the presentation of the Messac federation trophy and the Niort federation trophy both were
presented to Hooton HS fanciers Alan Foster (Jones and Foster Partnership) winner of first fed
Messac and also to Mike Lonsdale for taking first fed Niort. Congratulations to both these fanciers as
they also topped the local Amalgamation West Cheshire and Wrexham Amalgamation in the two
longest old bird races this season.
