“Merry Christmas”Around the World
The Appleseed staff hopes that your Christmas season is one of great joy and happiness. We hope that you are able to take time to consider the reason that we celebrate this Christian tradition.
There are many interpretations throughout the world of its origins and its meaning may differ in other religions. For me, I celebrate the holiday as the birth of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
I find peace in knowing that He is there for me and you. Whatever you believe, I wish you peace, good health and happiness, especially this Holiday Season.

This was the week that we got celebrate Christmas. We arrived with Christmas music and festive decorations. Entertainment was provided by the Eastmont Choir who sang several Christmas songs and then led us in a sing-along.
Scott Ballard led the kids in several games and even got some of the adults present to participate. Then Santa showed up and visited with the Daryl and the kids while his helper Scott distributed giftss to all the kids.

THE ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (RLI) The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) program is a series of fast-paced, interactive, one-day courses offered to refine a Rotarian’s leadership skills and increase their base of knowl-edge in Rotary. Courses are fun, topical, interactive, and geared to busy business, professional and community lead-ers who want to be more effective leaders in their vocation and Rotary club, and more knowledgeable Rotarians.Participants return to their clubs with enthusiasm, new contacts, fresh ideas, an increased understanding of their potential as Rotarians, and valuable skills impacting their potential leadership in the club. The full program has three parts. It is best to take the parts in sequence however that is not always possible. Please dis-cuss with the Registrar or any member of the Faculty. The Rotary Leadership Institute was introduced into Dis-trict 5060 in 2008. It is a grassroots training program that has been growing and expanding since 1992. Its purpose is to help future club leaders (not necessarily club presidents) to prepare for their club and community leadership role through a quality training and educational experience. The course is going to be held right here in Wenatchee on January 17, 31 and February 14, 2015. If you have to miss one of the sessions, make up sessions will be available. the sessions will run from 8 am to 3:30 pm each of those days. The cost is $85 for each session or $255 for all 3 sessions. You can register now online at the District website.

As a little girl climbed onto Santa’s lap, Santa asked the usual, “And what would you like for Christmas?” The child stared at him open mouthed and horrified for a minute, then gasped, “Didn’t you get my E-mail?”
This holiday season, in lieu of gifts, I’ve decided to give everyone my opinion.
Remember, Christmas isn’t about how big the tree is, or what’s under it. It’s about who’s around it.
OUTBOUND YOUTH EXCHANGEDISCOVER DESTINATIONS
Kiana Wilson, from Wenatchee High School will be going to Chile while Cecilia Luevanos-Casas from Eastmont High School will be going to Turkey. Both were at our meeting this past week and seem to be really excited about their upcoming Exchanges. A wonderful Christmas present for them.
HELP FOR THE SALVATION ARMY
Once again we took up a collection for the Sal-vation Army. This year we presented them with just over $2800. We do this each year instead of manning the Red Kettles. Frank told us that the
Red Kettles have been used since 1891 to help raise funds for the needy. They have been in Wenatchee now for over 106 years. this year they will provide food baskets and toys for over 400 families. It is not to late to help if you would like to donate a new or slightly used toy they will find it a home. Thanks Frank for all you and your organization do in our com-munity to help those less fortunate.
