BRIEF PROGRAM DESCRIPTION/GOALS:The Welding Technology program is designed to meet the minimum skill standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS) for entry level welders. Training is given in both theory and practical skills in the various phases of welding, cutting and fusing metals, and interpreting blueprints and sketches. This includes: arc welding, plasma and carbon arc cutting, oxyacetylene welding, TIG welding, MIG welding, gas metal and flux core arc welding, welding inspecting testing principles and fabrication techniques.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THE PROGRAM:• Welding curriculum is designed to meet the minimum skill standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS) for entry level welders.• You will train in a blended learning environment using traditional equipment and on a virtual welding machine, the only one in the state.
ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF EDUCATIONAL COSTS:• Tuition based on number of credits taken.• Welding textooks/tools/supplies approximately $450. Purchasesofadditionaltoolsandtextbooks mayberequiredeachsemester.
