Keeping the Connection

• Think of 5 people who stand out to you on campus- throughout your experience at Hofstra

• What characteristics did they have that left an impression on you?

• You have this same opportunity through welcome week, students remember their welcome week leaders, what can you do to make that difference?

How to make a difference!People’s Characteristics That Stand Out

A few from our list!

• Don’t take it personally• Don’t be afraid to be assertive when necessary• Always put the student FIRST• Make a good example with everything you do, so

they can follow in your footsteps• Manage to have the BEST ATTITUDE possible and

STAY POSITIVE!

Two things to remember

• Being a leader means being engaged, taking charge, and not getting distracted

• You have one chance to experience this opportunity, take advantage of it and be a part of the experience with your students!
