The picturesque 300-acre campus nestled in the heart of North Alabaama, is anchored by the 12-story Bailey Center, where enrollment services are located. There is a 5,000 seat coliseum on the west, School of Nursing and Center for Science on the north, and Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts to the south, along with state-of the-art learning facilities across campus for healthcare, applied technology, STEM, liberal arts and athletic programs.

The College has also opened a new Oneonta Center in Blount County with facilities for academic and technical programs.

❒ Admissions Application An Application for Admission must be completed, signed and submitted to the Admissions Office. Forms are available online via myWallaceState at www.wallacestate.edu. Send a copy of your ACT scores and a copy of your photo ID to [email protected], and electronically sign the In State/Out of State Residence Form (under admissions forms on website).

❒ Official Transcripts Request a copy of your official transcripts from all high schools and colleges you have attended be sent to Wallace State Community College Admissions Office. Your transcript must include your official grad-uation date. If you have passed the GED examination, a copy of your certificate must be submitted to the Admissions Office.

❒ Apply for Scholarships and Financial Aid The first step to apply for Financial Aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) along with additional paperwork required by the Wallace State Financial Aid Office, and a WSCC Scholarship Application. The FAFSA must be complet-ed online at www.fafsa.gov. You are encouraged to apply for Financial Aid by May 1 if you plan to attend WSCC in the Fall Semester, or by October 1 if you plan to attend WSCC the following Spring Semester. The application deadline for annual WSCC scholarships is February 15.

❒ Take the ACCUPLACER Placement Test The purpose of the ACCUPLACER assessment is to determine placement in math and English courses. If you received a score of 17 or higher on ACT English and math, you are exempt from this test. You may also be exempt based on courses taken and grades

earned in high school. Walk-in tests are given Monday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For availability of extended testing hours, contact the testing center at 256.352.8248.

❒ Attend Lions’ Pride Lions’ Pride Orientation sessions are conducted on specified dates prior to the start of the semester. At the conclusion of Lions’ Pride, you will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor and discuss your educational plan. As part of this process, you will be authorized to register in the Office of Admissions or online.

❒ Advisement All students must complete the advisement process with their assigned advisor prior to registration for classes. You will need to bring your ACT scores or ACCUPLACER placement scores with you.

❒ Freshman Seminar All entering freshmen are required to enroll in ORI110, Freshman Seminar, designed to assist students in the transition to college.

❒ Register for Classes After you have determined your class schedule with an advisor, you are ready to complete your registration. Tuition and fees are paid online or in the Cashier’s Office.

❒ Purchase Books About a month before classes begin, your textbooks should be available for purchase in the WSCC Bookstore. Cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard and Financial Aid are accepted.

❒ First Week of Class! Be sure to attend!
