Reporting• To ensure that parents receive better information• During Term 1 for Year 10 pupils a call from the tutor to introduce themselves, and give initial
feedback report on how the pupil is settling in. • Two written reports in Terms 2, and 5 (Year 11) or 6 (Year 10). And a report in Term 4 with
current achievement grades.• We would like to promote a culture where parents can email or call the relevant programme
leader or Pastoral Manager to raise any concerns rather than wait for a Parent’s Evening. To this effect we have removed Parent’s Evening form the calendar for the Partnership as we feel it would be more beneficial to address any issues as early as possible.
• Page 4 of the handbook contains all the contact details for the staff.
Changes to Reporting and Assessment
Activity
• With the person next to you spend 2 minutes thinking about how you could reward pupils on partnership programmes
2 Commendations (SCP Blue Commendation card issued straight to the pupil for each and recorded n the register) - a bar of chocolate
Pupils should only be rewarded if the commendations are for consecutive weeks so that we do not reward one good week at a time with gaps in between
Class Commendation - tray of biscuits
The Pupil with the most commendations at the end of term - £5 voucher
Feedback from Phil Tanner
.
Rewards Trial in Land Based
• The group have been split into three teams of four that I selected. The teams have separated all students with whom we have had issues.
• There is an individual table and a team table.• Individuals score plus points for improved attitude, good class work,
quiz winners, extra effort practical work and behaviour over and above that which expected.
• They lose points for repeated misbehaviour, poor attitude to other pupils or staff, behaviour that is of a health or safety issue.
• Their individual points go into their team total score to provide • pier pressure and an incentive for weaker members to pick up
points.• They also collect team bonus points in team quizzes and practical
work they do in their teams.
