Mission Statement St. Joseph Parish, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, is a community of God’s people. We, as a faith-filled com-munity, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, worship the Father by imitating the Son. We reach out to all people by evangelizing through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy for the dignity of all human life. By our daily proclamation of the Gospel and celebration of the sacraments, addressing our spiritual, social and educational needs, we shine with the love of Christ.

St Joseph Parish Weather Policy
On school days, if St Joseph School is cancelled due to weather, all other parish activities/meetings/appointments scheduled for that day are also cancelled.
On the weekend, if Religious Education class on Sunday between Masses is to be cancelled, it will be announced on the various media channels.
In all cases, our weekend or daily Mass will always be at the scheduled time. You are encouraged to use common sense as to your ability to get to Mass safely.
All notices will be posted on the parish website, www.stjosephgarrett.com.
And so, the promise of God to save us is about to break into our time and space..Come, Lord Jesus, come and save us. This 4th Sunday of Advent always features Mary, the Mother of Jesus, our Advent star par excellence, who very clearly teaches us to be open to the coming of her Son…just as she opened to the request of the angel of God to become His Mother. She is by far His greatest and most cooperative disciple. She teaches us the obedience of faith, her yes to Him inspires our yes to Him. Advent comes to an end with our celebration of Christmas today and tomorrow…am I more prepared to have Him enter me this Christmas? Have I renewed my relationship with Him? Come, Jesus, come. Be born in me anew. Remember your end of year gifts to the parish should be into the parish office by December 29 or into the collec-tion at Masses December 30-31. Many thanks to all of you for your cards, gifts and goodies. I truly appreciate your kindness. As I felt last year, I still think my best gift this Christmas is to be able to be here with you. What a blessing you are! After our Christmas Masses this Sunday and Monday, there will be no Masses or Adoration the rest of this week…until next weekend. I will be getting away for a few days. May God bless you all with His best Christmas love. St Joseph, pray for us. Fr. Jim

Christmas Prayer
God, you became human through the obedience of a simple young woman named Mary. Mary is our model of faith. May we be faithful to your word as Mary was. Give us the courage to face each day with the yes that Mary gave to you. We ask this through the incarnate God, who comes to us again during this Christmas season.
Amen.
